Iberia and Hisp-Anna are the same Goddess with a different name… Or maybe both of them are the
same name? If we play with the sounds of their pronunciation, we can hear something they are telling
to us: Hispania, Hipperia, Iberia… They name the One: The Iberian Divine Femenine in the centre of
the altar which represents Her Sacred Wheel. Around it, I´ve tried to join together as in a puzzle
many ancient worldviews to create a new tradition to honor the ancient Goddess of Iberia, Hisp-
Anna or Anna from Iberia.

According to my teacher, Kathy Jones, Ana was the name of the primal Goddess, which came from
the first sounds pronounced by the human beings : Aaa… Ann… Anna. This is the reason why “ana”
is part of the name of many Goddesses: Ana, Anna, Dana, Diana, Mariana, Viviana, Innana, Nanna,
Morgana… and why not Hisp-Anna or “Anna de Iberia”? Britannia and Hispania are the names given
by Romans to some of the lands they conquered in the Ancient Europe. In some way, it was a form
to unite the Goddesses honored by the peoples submitted to the name of Anna or Annia, the old
Roman Goddess of Time. So, they thought to win their favor not wanting to offend any deity. In the
first case, the name comes from the union of the Goddesses Brigit and Anna. In the second, “Hisp”
is a particle that derives from “Hesperia”, Goddess Guardian of the Hesperides´ Garden, the orchard
of the golden apples of abundance. Some other of Her names are Hipperia and Iberia. Fenicians, who
also inhabited the lands of the old Hispania, used to call “Vesper” or “Hesper” to Venus, the planet.
Could it be a mere coincidence?

Scholars could say there isn´t evidences availing our hypothesis. Patriarchy with his wars destroyed
the documents that could give us a more clarity about the Goddess´ times. They could think we are
“inventing” a new Goddess... Facing the lack of evidences, we can reclaim female archetypes we
know existed and were distorted and re-oriented to patriarchal culture. So, we reclaim Her originary
powers in order to restored them. When we invoke the Goddess through these names, we can feel
Her presence in our rituals. She appears to us in a powerful manner and She gives us Her messages.
How it happens is part of the Mystery. But I never could doubt of Her existence because I feel Her
anytime when I connect to Her, channelizing and embodying Her in my ceremonies. You can also
prove it following the excercises and rituals provided by this book.
Humans distributed the great stones at Stonehenge and built temples, burials and pyramids…
Somebody determined that a Goddess was called Athena or Isis or Pachamama... From Adam´s
arrival, men reserved their right to “name” each thing that exists… In these new times when the
Divine Femenine is back, women also reclaim our rights to re-create our most sacred traditions and
spirituality.

So, here you are the new ancient tradition of Hisp-Anna, Hipperia or Iberia, explained through
different Goddesses, elements and practices around Her Sacred Wheel.
Around any Sacred or “Medicine” Wheel, we can observe some particularities that reflects the
landscape of the places they are from. At East we can find Fire, because this is the place of the
sunrise. At North, we can find Earth because this is the place of the sunset. If there is a river at
South, it will be the place for Water and if there is a mountain at North, it will be the direction of Air.
For the Goddess people elements are deeply connected with Her body. The Wheel is a map of Hers
and also a picture of our female bodies. So I can follow the directions in my own body, to mark the
elements in each sacred Direction of the Wheel so that we can obtain an unique Wheel wherever we
are living.

To know which element are placed in each direction I just only have to stand, looking at the North.
So, North is at my head; East, at my right side – what is yang and luminous-; the South represents
my whole body and the West, my left side –what is dark and yin-. The East is always luminous,
because is the place of the Sunrise. The West is dark because is the place where the sun dies. The
Centre of the Wheel is the Goddess´ womb, that it´s also my own womb. As the altar represents the
Goddess´ body as our own, is easier to remember the place of elements, seasons and directions,
wherever you are.

The colors of each direction are: black in the West, reigns of the Autumn, Earth and night; white in
the North, land of the Winter, Air and winds; yellow in the East, where the Fire and the Springtime
live, and red for the South, the place of the sacred Water and Summer. Why we paint water as red?
Because it symbolizes the flood of our menstrual blood, Goddess´ sacred blood. The Centre is dark
red because it represents the womb from we come to life and the place we´ll be return at the end of
this lifetime.

In all our ceremonies, the Wheel is our altar and it´s also the sacred place where we can honor the
Goddess, the complete existence and our Selves. Hisp-Anna, Iberia or Anna de Iberia is the centre
because she´s the womb and the tomb. She´s all the Goddesses and The One. She´s Mother and
Matrix. Creation and Creatrix. She´s the Queen of Sovereignty. She´s the way and the destiny, end
and beginning. She´s eternal and She´s alive forever.
